While Thanksgiving may have come and gone, the after-effects might still be lingering. And no, we're not talking about all those delicious leftovers hanging out in your fridge, we're talking about something a little less pleasant: sluggish digestion, tummy bloat, or an overburdened digestive system. If your digestive system could use a little TLC right now, we highly recommend adding a daily green smoothie to your routine. Your taste buds will get the satisfaction of something sweet, while your GI tract says a big thank you for all of the fiber, enzymes, and hydration. Adding in more greens will also help to balance out any acidity, which can be an unwelcome result of eating heavier foods or too much processed sugar (heyyyy pumpkin pie, we're looking at you!).
We love how light and refreshing this recipe is, with that perfect balance of sweet and tart. The addition of mango and coconut butter gives it a slightly tropical taste, which also feels nice this time of year when most days are a little dreary and cold. Sneak in a little extra tummy love by adding in a dose of our Sunbiotics Vanilla Probiotic Powder. Your digestion will be back on track in no time!
The Recipe
Refreshing Sweet-Tart Green Smoothie
Serves 1
Ingredients
1.5 cups frozen mango
16oz green apple juice (we ran Granny Smith apples through our juicer for that sweet-tart effect)
1 frozen banana
2 big handfuls baby spinach
1.5 Tbs Dastony Stone Ground Coconut Butter
Optional for added digestion boost: 1 serving Sunbiotics Vanilla Probiotic Powder
Instructions
1. Blend ingredients until smooth and enjoy!
Note: If you don't have access to a juicer you can also use store-bought apple juice + a squeeze of lemon or lime to help balance the sweetness.
